Cut Edge Corrosion Treatment
Arrest corrosion at the cut edges of profiled metal roof and wall cladding sheets. Prevent water ingress and extend cladding life without costly re-roofing.
What is Cut Edge Corrosion?
When profiled metal cladding sheets are cut to size during manufacture or installation, the raw steel edge is exposed. Over time, this unprotected edge corrodes, causing the factory-applied coating to delaminate and peel back from the edge.
Left untreated, cut edge corrosion leads to water ingress, internal damage to insulation and building contents, and eventually structural failure of the cladding sheets.
Our specialist treatment system arrests the corrosion, seals the exposed edges, and provides long-term protection — at a fraction of the cost of re-cladding.
The Treatment Process
Inspection & Assessment
Full roof survey to assess the extent of corrosion and determine the treatment required.
Preparation
Wire brush and clean all affected edges. Remove loose rust, scale, and delaminated coatings.
Rust Inhibitor
Apply specialist rust inhibitor to all prepared edges to arrest and stabilise existing corrosion.
Edge Sealant
Apply flexible edge sealant to encapsulate the cut edge and bridge between sheet overlaps.
Protective Topcoat
Apply UV-stable protective topcoat to match existing roof colour and provide long-term weather resistance.
Why Treat Cut Edge Corrosion?
Avoid Re-Roofing Costs
Treatment costs typically 15-25% of full re-cladding. Save tens of thousands on large buildings.
Prevent Water Damage
Stop water ingress before it damages insulation, electrics, stock, and internal finishes.
15-Year Warranty
Our BBA-approved treatment system comes with a 15-year product warranty for long-term peace of mind.
